Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are a group of acids that are often found in fruit, source milk and sugar. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for most people. Alpha peels improve superficial wrinkles of the face, neck, upper chest, arms, pigmentation problems, enlarged facial pores, superficial acne scars of the face and age (liver) spots.

Beta Hydroxy Peels (mild)

Beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) are simple organic fruit acids that can be found naturally. A Beta-Hydroxy Acid, is an excellent deep cleanser. It dissolves oil and is able to penetrate and clean out clogged pores. This diminishes blackheads and pimples and prevents new skin blemishes from forming. It also works by exfoliating (removing) aging cells, dirt and debris attached to the skin surface. By removing the superficial aging cells, new cell growth is stimulated resulting in younger, healthier cells appearing on the surface.

Southbeach Peel (moderate/aggressive)

Trichloracetic Acid 7% & Salacylic Acid 2%, this is a combination peel excellent for adolescent skin, acne, or dull skin. A South Beach peel is an excellent non-surgical minimally invasive procedure that can treat fine facial wrinkles, acne, uneven pigment, and skin dryness. This peel is slightly stronger then a Alpha or Beta Peel, hence one will see results much sooner. Most patient receive the South Beach Peel approximately 3 to 4 times a year.

Jessner's Peel (moderate/aggressive)

The Jessner peel itself is done using a combination of resorcinol, salicylic acid and lactic acid. This unique combination gives deep penetration to really exfoliate the outer skin layers, which eventually leads to a natural “peeling” of the skin a few days later, which will reveal a much smoother and more attractive layer of skin underneath. This kind of peel is often used for those with mild to severe acne and skin damage. Again, a lot of people with excessive damage from exposure to the sun choose this type of peel, as well.
